Pop bottle blast off was a 'scrapheap' style challenge to develop, launch and recover a water powered rocket.
The event was held over three days at the Museum of Flight, part of the National Museums of Scotland.
Two teams made up from 16 young people from Tranent (East Lothian) accepted the mission to design and build a rocket from the scrap provided. The teams were awarded marks for maximum flying distance, time in the air and for a safe recovery, as well as marks for overall aesthetic and innovative design.
Along with developing the event show me learning's Steve Allman also acted as host, motivating the teams, assisting them with their designs and ensuring that everyone who took part had a great time.
