Frequently asked questions about booking a science show:
Do you have insurance? Yes! We have £2million public liability insurance and £1million professional indemnity insurance. We will also provide you with our own risk assessments for all of the activities that we run.
What type of venue do you need? We're very flexible when it comes to venues and have worked in offices, classrooms, sports halls, theatres and marquees. Some of our events (such as the bubble show) are best done indoors, and the forces show benefits from having a high ceiling. Having said all of that, we'll try and work in any space you have - just don't forget the comfort of your audience.
Do you bring your own equipment? We try and bring everything we need ourselves. Sometimes we may ask you to provide a PA system if the event space is large or has a big audience (anything over 150 people).
How many people can attend your science shows? We can present to any number of people, from 10 to 500+. But you may need to consider that some of the experiments that we do could be hard to see if you're sat right at the back of a large venue (we can advise on what is or isn't suitable).
Can you provide any references for your services? Yes, we can provide references on request. If you're looking to book a science show then why not come and see us in action? Our public performances are listed in the news section of this website and with prior notice we can arrange to meet you either before or after the performance. Just let us know which event you'll be attending and we'll make sure that you're on the guest list!
How much do you charge? Our costs vary depending on where you are and how many shows you want us to present, which is why we provide you with a written quotation which breaks down our fee and expenses (e.g. for travel). Rest assured that we're very good value for money and can offer discounts for multiple bookings.
Anything else I should know? Yes - but don't worry because we'll explain everything to you prior to any booking being confirmed in writing. We'll also provide you with our terms and conditions which acts as an agreement between show me learning and the group/person making the booking. It also details how we like to be paid, what your responsibilities are and what happens in the event of a cancellation etc. No booking is confirmed until you have written to us stating that you agree to our quote and the terms and conditions supplied.
I have more questions If you need to know more just get in touch, we're happy to discuss our services, the projects that we've worked on and also your own requirements.
